What we clean on a drive
Block paving turns grey, slabs go green, and moss and weeds root in the joints, worst in shady corners and along walls.
We clean driveways, paths and side alleys with commercial-grade equipment: a pressure washer and a rotary surface cleaner. Dirt, moss and weeds come out of the surface and the joints, so dark herringbone comes up an even pale buff and red blocks look red again. On block paving, we can re-sand the joints too.

How we clean a driveway
We use a pressure washer with a rotary surface cleaner: a round hood with spinning jets underneath, held at a steady height just above the paving.
Because the jets keep the same height and angle, it cleans a wide strip at a time and gives a more even finish, with fewer stripes than a hand-held lance.
A lance held too close can score the face of the paving. Keeping the jets at a fixed height helps avoid that. In this photo, the rotary surface cleaner sits on a freshly cleaned slab drive, and the slabs beyond it have just been washed and are still wet.

Clear the drive
Please move cars off the drive before we arrive, and bins and plant pots too if you can, so the whole area can be cleaned.
We clean, then re-sand if booked
We work across the paving with the rotary surface cleaner. If you've booked re-sanding, dry sand goes into the joints once the paving has dried.
Re-sanding
The sand between paving blocks does a real job. It wedges each block against its neighbours, so the whole surface stays firm instead of shifting or sinking.
Jet washing lifts weeds, moss and dirt out of the joints, and some of the old sand goes with them. Once the paving is dry, re-sanding brushes fresh sand back into the gaps. Full joints help hold the blocks together and leave less room for weeds to settle.
Re-sanding is from £50, on top of the clean. The side alley in the before and after photos below shows the finish: clean blocks with fresh golden sand in every joint.

Paths and side alleys
Narrow paths and side alleys get little sun, so moss and weeds take hold fast. We clean block-paved and slab paths, and re-sand the block ones if you book it.
